The Business of CO2DeepStore
Purpose
Our purpose is to leverage experience from the offshore oil and gas sector to evaluate, deliver and operate deep geological CO2 storage services on a commercial basis in Europe and elsewhere.
CO2DeepStore will hold CO2 storage licenses and participate directly in projects taking responsibility for keeping the CO2 safely stored within the earth.
In order to maintain the focus of our business on CO2 storage, CO2DeepStore will not seek ownership or revenues from enhanced hydrocarbon production. Our capital projects will create revenue through the European Union Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS).
Strategy
CO2DeepStore builds strategic solutions for the business challenges of both power generation companies and gas producers, by enabling a seamless and effective transfer of depleted gas infrastructure into long term CO2 storage service.
Partnership
CO2DeepStore seeks partnerships in two key areas:-
- With power generators who are planning CO2 capture systems and who are seeking assured storage facilities for these industrial volumes of CO2.
- With the owners of depleted gas field infrastructure who are looking to improve their corporate performance by effectively managing the cost of field decommissioning.
Our business success is delivered through:-
- Servicing the needs of current power generators or gas companies to develop solutions in the area of CO2 storage through provision of advice and management support.
- Partnering with existing gas companies so that they can retain an interest in the storage facility, whilst focusing their business on energy production elsewhere.
- Acquisition of assets by CO2DeepStore to enable gas companies to manage their decommissioning burden cleanly and seamlessly and retain full business focus on energy production.
- Partnering with power generation companies to deliver secure CO2 storage sites.
